Ed Roman's D'Angelico's - NO LAMINATES

All D'Angelico's that Ed Roman Stocks are made from 100% solid wood. Absolutely no laminates and no pearloid inlays.

There has been some confusion in the market place regarding laminate tops on the new 2002 D'Angelico guitars. I for one do not carry any laminate top models. Every D'Angelico in stock has a Solid German Spruce Top.

Top Quality, Great Playability and Loaded with Features

Ebony Fingerboard, Beautiful Inlays, Gold Hardware, Floating Pickup, Bound Neck, Bound Body, Bound F Holes, Original Stair step Tailpiece. Guitar Player magazine has given the NYL-2 its Editors' Pick Award for  August 2001. The Pick Award is, according to the magazine, given in recognition of products  that are "…innovative, technologically advanced, and/or exquisitely rendered."

I have seen numerous articles written by many reviewers and players stating that the 2001 2002 new D'Angelico guitars are actually built better than the originals. This of course is a sacrilegious statement as far as an original D'Angelico owner is concerned.

In this case I have to agree!  I have taken notice of things like fret installation, neck binding, quality of woods and general overall playability.

I say give it a try and make up your own mind.

Ed Roman, June 2002
