Warwick Bass Body Repair

This is not a simple repair !!

Most repair shops are totally incapable of repairs like this one.

If you have a problem like this one I suggest you send your instrument to me. This Warwick Bass was cut and re drilled so that the owner could  install a Neutrik jack
Here are close-ups of the disastrous mess made when the router bit chattered and slipped.

This is a common occurrence when a shop uses dull or older router bits.
On a $3,000.00 plus instrument like this I would always recommend using a brand new router bit.

My shop repaired this Bass so expertly that it is impossible to see the original mess

Here is the Bass in it's transition period

When finished it will be virtually impossible to tell anything has been done to it.

As you can plainly see there is absolutely no way to tell this wasn't a factory stock body.

We could show you how to do this but then we would have to kill you.

This one is a job for the experts.

Several years ago I did this same repair to a 1957 original Korina Vee.  We can't show the job on the internet because the owner paid me a $1000.00 tip and asked for my secrecy.  But be aware I can do the same thing to Natural Korina that I can do to Natural Bubinga. No one will ever be able to tell there was a repair ! Absolutely guaranteed !!!!! I personally don't like the Nuetrik Jack,  It works well but it's too industrial looking. The customer wanted it so of course we installed it.

FRET JOB & CUSTOM INLAYS

The customer was so impressed with the job he decided to do a Moonscape inlay on the fingerboard. Of course to do the Moonscape we also had to redo the fret job

Always a good idea to heat the fret a little before extraction
It takes a little longer but it's worth it.
(Most shops skip this part)

Removing frets on a Warwick is not an easy job

Warwick fret wire costs 4 times as much as regular fret wire. It is supposed to last 4 times as long. I discovered that it requires great skill to remove frets from a Warwick.
